Wha’s like Us 3
Saturday 28th August 2027
Wha’s 3 showcases the very best of Scottish prog in all its glorious diversity and welcomes a special guest from outside Scotland. This year’s festival has a strong instrumental flavour, combined with two of progressive music’s finest vocalists, Peter Jones and Glasgow’s own Joe Cairney.
Comedy of Errors
Headliners Comedy of Errors performed live for the first time in May 1984 and are one of Scotland’s best-loved and most venerated prog bands who – with six critically acclaimed albums to their name and a seventh scheduled for release prior to Wha’s 3 – have made an outstanding contribution to the genre. Having graced the stage at major festivals across the globe, including Rosfest, Loreley, Terra Incognita, the Cambridge Rock Festival and the Nene Valley Rock Festival, they will bring Wha’s Like Us to an unforgettable conclusion with their third appearance at the festival.
Line-up: Joe Cairney (vocals), Jim Johnston (keyboards), Steve Agnew (guitar and vocals), John Fitzgerald (bass and vocals), Colin Fraser (drums and percussion)

Tiger Moth Tales (Full band)
The co-organisers are delighted to welcome our special guests from outside Scotland, Tiger Moth Tales, playing in Scotland as a full band for the first time.
Peter Jones can only be described as a musical genius, excelling at every instrument he plays, from saxophone, through keyboards to guitar. As if this were not enough, his skills as a vocalist mean he is very much in demand for guest appearances and provides lead vocals in a plethora of other bands, such as Camel, Cyan and Red Bazar. Not to mention his gifts as a songwriter, having delighted listeners the world over with albums such as Cocoon, The Depths of Winter and The Turning of the World.
Surrounding himself with musicians of the highest calibre to bring out the full potential of his compositions, let’s be sure to give the band the proper Glasgow welcome they deserve.
Line-up: Peter Jones (vocals, keyboards, guitar, saxophone), Andy Wilson (guitars), Gareth Cole (bass) and Paul Comerie (drums and percussion)

Ali Ferguson
One of Scotland’s most accomplished guitarists, Ali Ferguson is best known as touring guitarist for Ray Wilson, for his work with Red Box and Dougie Wilson. However, at Wha’s 3 the focus will be on his brilliant solo albums, The Windmills and the Stars, A Sequence of Moments and The Contemplative Power of Water. Richly layered, sumptuously melodic, meditative, profound and all-enveloping, Ali’s mastery of ambient textures and attention to detail is guaranteed to transport you from the mundane to the ethereal. This is your first chance to hear Ali perform his own compositions since September 2024. Do not miss out!

Idiogram
East Lothian’s idiogram burst on to the scene at the Temple of Prog II and their debut album Reunion of Broken Parts is a beautifully crafted and atmospheric soundscape defying easy classification in the best tradition of prog. One moment precise and crystalline, like the diamond tip of a stylus, the next ethereally swirling and impalpable, Idiogram never cease to beguile and intrigue. Collaborator Sam Healy’s live interpretation of the music ensures that no two performances are alike.
Line-up: Lesley Crawford (keys), Ali Gillies (bass), Ali Kilpatrick (guitar), Keith Kirkwood (drums) Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/idiogram.band Website: https://www.idiogr.am/ Bandcamp: https://idiogram.bandcamp.com/
Jennifer Clark Band
Jennifer Clark is a professional musician based in Central Scotland. She's played bass since her teens, began dabbling in recording in her twenties, and now works successfully out of her own studio producing diverse bands and her own compositions. She’s played bass for acclaimed singer/songwriter Horse McDonald and Alan Reed (formerly of Pallas). Line-up: Gareth Lloyd (guitar), Jamie Hamilton (keyboard), Isaac Sutherland (drums) and Jennifer Clark (bass). Their debut EP Ascan resulted in demands for more of that sort of thing – so here we are!

The Oscar Cordoba Band
The Oscar Cordoba Band is a four piece instrumental jazz/rock fusion band based in central Scotland.
The band members have been involved in some of Scotland's finest rock, blues and prog acts. In fact if we were to list the pedigrees and experience of the band members we'd be here all day and night! Suffice to say they've covered everything from prog rock, folk, rock, jazz, big band jazz, stage shows, pantomimes (oh yes they have!) and just about everything in between – there's even a former Scottish Brass Band champion in there!
Musically the band straddles the thin line between prog and fusion, with a foot in each camp.
In 2020 they released the acclaimed debut album, Mythical part 1, which included both cover versions of influences of the band and original songs in the same vein. Since then, the band has been writing more original material which highlights the versatility & musicianship of the players, and the new material will form the 2027 release Mythical Pt 2.
Line-up: Kenneth Clark (keyboards), George Falconer (drums/percussion), Sam McCulloch (guitar), Nelson McFarlane (bass)

The Wizards of Progg

Best described as laid-back, soothing and mellow jazz-prog fusion, they have been writing new material to premiere at Wha’s 3.
Line-up: Charlie Kilgour (keyboards), Carey Walton (keys and guitar), Mike Delaitre (rhythm guitar, keys and percussion) and Michael Tonks (bass), with Laurence MacDonald guesting on lead guitar.
