Visons Presents The Larches
Friday, 24 July 2026, 18:30
The Georgian Theatre, Stockton-on-Tees · Green Dragon Yard, Stockton-on-Tees
Sludge metal collective The Larches will release their new EP, Nihilistic Majesties, on 24th July 2026 via independent release”. Spanning five crushing tracks, the record drags listeners through murky soundscapes of despair, defiance, and decay, a pure distillation of the band’s grim, suffocating take on sludge and doom.
Nihilistic Majesties captures The Larches at their most feral and focused. Recorded at Harbourmaster Studios in South Shields and mixed/mastered by Martin Trolloppe, the EP channels the suffocating atmosphere of early sludge pioneers while pushing further into textured noise and slow-motion chaos.
“This record is a sermon from the void — five hymns for a world unraveling,” says vocalist Noah Annandale “It’s the sound of what’s left when everything else burns away.”
From the relentless churn of “Raxidermy” to the hard riffing, meditative sprawl of “Dopeslut”, Nihilistic Majesties stands as both a declaration and a descent — a brutal meditation on power, emptiness, and transcendence through volume.
Tracklist:
Raxidermy
Smother the Hero
Corrosion of Conscious
Drought
Dopeslut
The Larches will mark the EP’s release with a launch show at the Georgian Theatre in Stockton with support coming from Newcastle based Sludge/Hardcore duo Shan along with local Heavy Metal Rockers Redscar this promises to be a signature wall-of-sound performance steeped in distortion and sweat.
The Larches were formed in 2023 and are from Middlesbrough in the UK, The Larches blend sludge, doom, and noise rock into a cathartic assault on the senses. Known for their punishing low-end and raw emotional weight, the band has carved out a space in the modern sludge underground as one of its most uncompromising voices. Nihilistic Majesties is their most unfiltered statement to date — five tracks of pure desolation and deliberate heaviness.
Blending elements of heavy alternative rock with sludge metal, The Larches are carving out a sound that will resonate with fans of Acid Bath, Eyehategod, and Crowbar. Known for their explosive and highly engaging live performances, the band has built a strong and growing fanbase across the Northeast.
