TC.KYLIE makes her Newcastle debut at Cluny 2 this December, bringing her full-band mix of cinematic jazz fusion, Japanese jazz-rock and acid grooves to the North East for the first time.
The show will preview new material from her forthcoming debut album, RE:conciliation, alongside music from RE:birth, with piano, synths and her signature keytar at the centre of the full-band performance.
The Newcastle date follows a strong run of sold-out UK and European shows, including Matt & Phred’s in Manchester, Peggy’s Skylight in Nottingham, Ronnie Scott’s Upstairs and A-Trane Berlin, alongside an appearance at Scarborough Fringe Festival.
The Cluny 2 show comes near the end of TC.KYLIE’s UK and European winter tour, following dates across the UK, Ireland and continental Europe.
TC.KYLIE is a Hong Kong-born, London-based keyboardist and composer turning cinematic jazz fusion into sonic storytelling.
Formerly a journalist for Hong Kong’s public broadcaster RTHK, she brings a documentarian’s sense of narrative, observation and emotional detail into her music. Drawing from Hong Kong, Japan and the UK, her sound blends modern jazz, Japanese jazz-rock energy, acid grooves, SEGA retro-gaming textures and Studio Ghibli-inspired nostalgia.
With her signature keytar at the centre of her live identity, TC.KYLIE creates high-energy instrumental music that is cinematic, rhythmically charged and visually distinctive. Her music bridges the harmonic richness and improvisational energy of jazz fusion — with influences including Shaun Martin and Hiromi Uehara — with the explosive momentum of Japanese jazz-rock and acid-jazz acts such as fox capture plan and jizue.
Following a sold-out UK and European spring tour — including Ronnie Scott’s Upstairs, the V&A Performance Festival and A-Trane Berlin — TC.KYLIE is now entering a new chapter with her forthcoming debut album, RE:conciliation, due for release in late 2026.
Jazz Journal described RE:birth as “a lovely mix of European and Asian influences… reminiscent of a Studio Ghibli soundtrack,” calling it “immersive” and “the sonic equivalent of a sunrise.”
