Sliabh Luachra Fiddle Workshop (Intermediate) with Aoife Ní Chaoimh

The Patrick O'Keeffe Traditional Music Festival classes/workshops take place from on Saturday 24th of October at 11am

Aoife Ní Chaoimh is a fiddle player from Tralee, Co. Kerry, whose playing is deeply rooted in the Sliabh Luachra tradition. She learned her music from renowned Kerry musicians Anne and Nicky McAuliffe, developing a style noted for its rhythm and close connection to the music of the region.

Aoife performs regularly with accordion player and husband Paudie O’Connor, and in 2014 the pair released the acclaimed album *Didn’t She Dance and Dance*, celebrating the music and influence of Sliabh Luachra greats including Johnny O’Leary, Pádraig O’Keeffe and Julia Clifford.

Aoife has appeared on numerous television and radio productions and teaches annually at Scoil Samhraidh Willie Clancy. Her playing is characterised by the distinctive lift, rhythm and repertoire of the Sliabh Luachra tradition.
