Printing with Indian Wood Blocks · 204 Nassau Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11222, USA, Manhattan

This experience is for children ages 7 to 12 years-old, and their familes.

We provide and facilitate all the materials needed for the children to work with, then based on instructions on how to use the wood blocks to print they get to decorate on an organic cotton teeshirt and keep it for themselves.

Our instructor, an artist educated in this traditional technique will explanin the steps to successfully apply color ink onto the blocks and how to press them to the fabric to create patterns and designs.

This is an opportunity for free play and experimentation, while learning and expeirncing an ancient way of decorating textiles. While no specific goal or design level is expected, the practice and the experience is engaging and rewarding.

We thank Greta BK, Yellow Owl Workshop, Industry of All Nations and our volunteers for their support to our project.
