A Performative Exhibition During Berlin Art Week
September 9-13, 2026
Manifesto Market, Potsdamer Platz, Berlin
Free Entry/Donation-Based

On the Clock transforms Manifesto Market into a live working studio. Across five days during Berlin Art Week, artists occupy former food stand structures, dressed in blue overalls and working in continuous shifts across painting, music, fashion design, choreography, performance, and installation.

There is no final artwork. There is no curatorial control. What matters is the labour itself: the visibility of the creative process and the rhythm of a factory floor applied to artistic practice.

The studio operates on a shift schedule. Each artist enters their station, works visibly under fluorescent light, and leaves at the end of their time. Rehearsal, experimentation, repetition, failure, construction, and transformation all happen in public. There is no attempt to separate process from presentation.

The blue overall becomes the project’s only visual anchor, collapsing the distinction between artist and worker. What would usually happen behind closed doors is placed directly in front of the public: urgent, unfiltered, and unresolved.
Rather than asking audiences to encounter artistic practice only through its finished product, On the Clock proposes that the labour itself is worth witnessing.

On the Clock is realised by Kinder der Welt, Placebo Collective, and Leonis Works as a gesture toward horizontality, transparency, and the unfinished.

Bringing together artists working across different disciplines and practices, the project creates a shared environment without imposing a singular aesthetic or expected outcome. During Berlin Art Week, On the Clock stakes a simple claim: artistic labour is worth witnessing.
ABOUT THE ORGANISERS
Kinder der Welt is a Berlin-based practice centred on spatial design, curatorial thinking, and community infrastructure. Its work spans exhibition architecture, graphic communication, and the material conditions that enable collaboration.

Placebo Collective is an independent curatorial platform born in Pennabilli, Emilia-Romagna, and active across Italy and Germany. Placebo operates at the intersection of visual art, fashion, music, and performance. The collective rejects institutional hierarchies and works through horizontal collaboration and self-financing.

Leonis Works, led by Renato De Leon, is a Berlin-based curatorial and artistic practice working across performance, experiential design, creative production, and cross-disciplinary exchange. Its work brings together artists and disciplines to create new contexts for live and immersive artistic experiences.
