At Gloucester Rugby, we’re passionate about developing the next generation of players. Our Rugby Camps are designed to ignite a love for the game in young athletes while helping them grow both on and off the pitch. Through our expertly crafted programmes, we aim to:
INSPIRE young players to set high standards for themselves and continually strive to improve.
CREATE an engaging and memorable rugby experience.
SUPPORT personal and athletic development through structured, age-appropriate coaching.
BUILD key life skills such as leadership, resilience, and teamwork.
A Gloucester Rugby Masterclass combines high-quality coaching, high-quality facilities and a holistic development approach to develop every player.
Our Player Development Masterclasses across the season involve a Preseason Camp, In-Season day (PRO) and evening (LITE) Camps, and a Transition Camp (Residential). Over the course of the season, we deliver:
On field skills:
Games-based coaching
Fundamental skill development
Positional skill development
Tactical understanding aligned to Gloucester Rugby Academy Game Model
Off field skills:
Athletic development coaching
Athletic Ability Assessment (AAA)
Performance analysis supporting on-field activity
Individual Development Plan (IDP) constructed with Academy coaches
Leadership skills (e.g., leading a huddle, breathwork, reflection)
Included within the cost of a residential camp:
Gloucester Rugby kit bundle
Full bed and board for the duration of the camp
4 x Academy-style training sessions, delivered by Academy staff
Day and evening activities (including athletic development, swimming, touch tournaments)
One-on-one feedback session with the coaching team
Our camps are led by a trusted and experienced team of Gloucester Rugby coaching staff, committed to making each camp an exciting and enriching experience. All coaches hold a minimum England Rugby Coaching Award qualification and are fully DBS-checked. Every camp also includes fully qualified First Aiders and designated Safeguarding Leads to ensure a safe environment for all players.
