Black Slate

Few bands can trace a line directly from 1970s London sound system culture to the present day. Black Slate do exactly that.

Formed in London in 1974, the band helped shape the sound of British roots reggae, earning a devoted following through classics including ‘Amigo’ and decades of powerful live performance.

Now spanning three generations, Black Slate bring together those who were there when British reggae found its voice and those carrying it forward today.
