Audacious Raw Theatre Year Ten: These Sovereign Woods
Saturday, 8 August 2026, 20:00
Audacious Raw Theatre Year Ten: These Sovereign Woods · 28097 Goodview Dr, Lanesboro, MN 55949, USA, Winona
Lanesboro Arts is thrilled to present Audacious Raw Theatre (A.R.T.) Year 10: These Sovereign Woods at Eagle Bluff Environmental Learning Center on Saturday, August 8th at 3:00pm!
Tickets are on sale now–$20 for General Admission & $15 for Lanesboro Arts Members.
This final installment of A.R.T.'s Common Ground series will explore what it means to find common ground with our friends, neighbors, and community members with whom we may not see eye to eye on Common Sense Gun Laws and the Second Amendment. Together, as with the past Common Ground performances, There is a Field (which explored reproductive rights) and Surf & Turf: Stories of Water & Earth (which explored climate change), A.R.T. met with groups of people to talk about their stories and viewpoints, and to create a devised theatrical work called In These Sovereign Woods.
In the event of rain, the performance will take place in the “Lower Lobby” of Eagle Bluff’s dormitory space. The performance will run approximately 70 minutes, followed by a campfire if conditions allow. Tickets are on sale now for $20 ($15 Lanesboro Arts Members).
This event is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a Minnesota State Arts Board grant, thanks to a legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
About Audacious Raw Theater:
Since 2023, Audacious Raw Theater has been working with the overarching theme of Common Ground. Under this umbrella, they take on stories and performances that, at first glance, may seem polarizing in nature, and strive to uncover collective values that unite us. Learn more on the Audacious Raw Theater Website.
What is devised theatre? It means the ARTists build original theatrical performances through a series of conversations, writing exercises, movement exploration, and more, teasing out the stories and performances they want to share with live audiences.
